Solemnization 10.8.2013

Alhamdulillah,I am now married to the most wonderful guy in my life over a month ago *Sila jangan muntah :P*

Since the first time we met over 3 years ago at my work place,I knew already I would end up marrying this guy :P

Along the way,we have gone through many problems and obstacles,be it the problems from ourselves and from people's perceptions around us.

Being a girl who never tend to care what the damn people say about me or us,we're finally on one road, road to build a family in the future with God's blessing.

After over a month, today finally I want to share some of our pictures from solemnization.I will upload pictures from our reception as well ;)

Till then,
Love,

Hidaya and Ramon

Wedding Journey Part 2

This is the last entry of my wedding journey.Hope you're still fine reading this entry :P
So this is how our pelamin/dais looked like.Yes,it's a freaking simple one, because my husband wanted it that way,and I respected his decision. But I can't help but hearing some people commented nastily about my pelamin just because it was simple yet a bit pricey.I tried my best to keep my calmness and politeness but can't help but burst into nasty respond to her back :P
*Nasib la kutuk sangat pelamin orang lain*

Pomander Balls DIYed by me and my sisters.Love doing this as it is simple and can save a lot of money as well.

For make-up,I opted for a very light make-up because I basically don't like heavy bridal make-up eventhough many people say with light make-up your pictures won't look that nice.
Some friends commented it looked just nice as it was not heavy, and more importantly,my husband recognized me as who I am rather than being made up to turn into someone else :P
You know what I mean, don't you?

For shoes,I don't think much and just bought a pair from C&K.I love the glitters on the shoes and more importantly, they suited for both my solemnization and reception dresses because of its nature color.
For the Hand Bouquet,I bought 2 pots of flowers 2 weeks before the wedding day because I knew during raya holiday, the roads are so jammed and many flower shops or supermarket were not supplied with fresh flowers due to holidays.

Unfortunately, the other pot didn't grow so well, don't know what was wrong,so that explains why I only had one color of flowers for my hand bouquet for 2 days!
Btw,My mom did the bouquet for me.Thanks mom!

So,this is how our bedroom looked like.It was DIYed fully my me and my family.Mom parents chose the curtains and flowers arrangements, and the rest were done by me.At first,I was not so sure about the color of the bedroom, but at the end,it looked so perfect and cozy :P

This is what we had for meja beradap.Very simple right? No udang panjat2,and I was the one who cooked the chicken for this event.Haha,I cooked the chicken one hour before the event started, but Ramon's family commented the food was good.Fuuhh!I asked my sister to do the tissue decoration, never knew she was good at decorating the table tissue.

And this is how the canopy for local guests looked like. The rest was arranged by my parents, including the food selections for guests that day.

I think not too much if I show you my wedding rings.Well, being a typical Malaysian,I love golden ring but it should not be over the top, just a simple one,so I told Ramon that was a must :P
And then, being a European, they prefer for the couple to have couple rings and normally they opted for silver.
So,Ramon got us a pair of Palladium rings with our names and date of marriage carved on them.

Lastly,a little review of my wedding venue. We had our nikah session at state mosque,Masjid Sultan Yahya Petra,Kota Bharu.
Since I was a teenager,I always had a dream to be married there, for some reasons, the mosque itself is a new mosque,so the color and the architecture of the mosque is modern, and that's the reason why I always love this mosque.
Finally my dream came true ;-)

That's all for my wedding review.
Have a nice day everyone!

Wedding Journey Part 1

Hola friends,
How have you guys been doing?I am well despite the fact  that my husband has left me a week ago ;(
Looks like this long distance episode is not gonna end just yet.

Well,we hope for not too long as I am currently waiting for my visa to be ready which we hope to get it soon before I can fly to Germany.

A week after our wedding was fulfilled with a lot of activities especially with the process of submitting documents  for the visa at German Embassy, and then we headed to Penang to meet my old grandma who was very eager to come to my wedding but due to her poor condition,my mom's siblings didn't allow her,so being a good grandkids(hehe) we drove there for a night stay and came back a day before Ramon's flight back home.

It has been a hectic week for both of us,and at this moment,we both have to be very patient and strong in absence of each other.

It sucks to the core, you know,to be separating with your loved ones, especially when you're attached to them.

Nevertheless,I have a story to tell!
A little review of my wedding!
I may separate the story in 2 entries because there are just so many pictures to publish in one post.
I still have to pick our wedding pictures to be sent back to the OP for editing and photoalbum,so until then, here's the story about our wedding journey.

Guestbook Table. At first my family thought the idea is gonna be wasted because they thought not many people will come up to sign the book. But guess what, many people did,and we were so overwhelmed with all the precious thoughts!

The crepe paper flowers in can vase.I made it with my sisters and we put all over places.A good idea for cost-saving and it was a fun activity to do with your siblings!

We also had this tiny little paper clipper made by my beloved mother-in-law.After the event, the guests can take the clippers back home.

"Meja Beradap".The original meja beradap by the bridal boutique was quite plain and simple,so I added more DIY stuff on it,at first I wanted to put more and more until my husband said no :P.
He knew I won't stop until someone said so.

Our wedding cakes!I said no to fondant cakes so creamed cakes were my choices. They were made by my mom's friend aka my teacher from standard one.

Also alongside the wedding cakes were the cute tiny cupcakes, also made by my standard one teacher.

I gave up at first to make this flower-tied sampin, and wanted to go with the plain-tied sampin until my cousin's son was kind enough to help us doing it.He said he did it few times before,so he was quite good at it.Thanks saviour!

Everytime I looked at this dress,my heart was always filled with anger and dissapointment. It was at last saved by a kind friend, who fixed it until it looks nicer than before, but I can't still forget what the original tailor had done to it.But it was fixed perfectly and many people commented nicely about it too ;-)

Hantarans from him to me.The watch and bracelet missing in the picture due to safety reason, but the fast-finishing items from the hantarans are the Hanuta,German chocolate sandwiches that taste so good,it is basically a sandwich of nutella filling between two waffles. Many people liked it and ask for some more!

Hantarans from me to him. Also the watch and tablet missing due to safety reason. All the hantaran decorations of both sides made by me.

So many pictures already, will continue in part 2.

Till then!

Just Married

Salam guys,
How have you guys been doing? I'm doing very good here, and I think I have to break this silence from world blogging by writing this post tonight :-)

Alhamdulillah, this year's raya celebration was awesome despite the fact that we had bigger celebration which is my wedding. On 10th of August,I have officially become Mrs Bisswanger to my dear husband.

No perfect word to describe how much happy I am now that my life is fulled with joy and happiness. Allah has granted me with the most beautiful family I could ever ask for,and now He brought another person into my life.

We have gone through so many obstacles for the past 3 years, that makes us much stronger than before, and we know bigger challenges will come into our way,but InsyaAllah,we'll never look back and give up before time comes.

I decided to post these 2 photos from our solemnization and Reception days each from my camera for you guys. We're still waiting for our official pictures from OP,but until then, hope you guys enjoy our great moments together.

Save the Date

Assalam guys,
Seems like I have abandoned this blog for like in forever.
It wasn't my intention, believe me,but as you guys know, the big day is coming real soon,so I still have to prepare whatever necessary, and at the same time, enjoying my Ramadhan month to the fullest ;-)

How is your Ramadhan so far?Mine is great, and so is Ramon's first time Ramadhan. He's doing very great since the first day of fasting in hot and long days in Germany(people there fasting for 18 hours) and since last week,he has arrived in Malaysia,I can see how determined he is with fasting and all.

So,as the day is near the corner,I'd like to share my happy moment with you guys.
Sorry that I never really had time to explain the preparations I did so far,but it's better kept that way.
I always put in mind

"Selagi benda tak jadi,it's better to keep things to ourselves only"

Happy Ramadhan again and Selamat Hari Raya.

I will be updating my blog more actively from now on ;-)
What to write?Well,OOTD,my wedding moment,little honeymoon :P
And well, the lists go on and on ...

Till then,
Please pray for my event to be a successful one.

Wedding Prep Part 2

Assalam guys,
how have you been?I'm sorry for my absence these days.Too busy preparing for my big day that will happen in less than a month!

Alhamdulillah, everything is almost ready, and I'm still working on several stuff before I leave for my parents' home on last weekend of Ramadhan.

Here is my second and last preview of my wedding preparation part 2.

1.Reception dress
The reason why I haven't done a preview about this dress is because I had to go thru many difficulties to get this one ready. This is the reason why I had a meltdown last mnth as I almost gave up on how to take care of this one problem. If you wanna know,I was cheated by the tailor that had sweet-mouth saying this and that about preparing our reception dresses, but the end result was like hell*pardon me with my word*.

She was lucky because I'm not a fussy person when it comes to this, because to tell the truth, money isn't a problem at all for me,and I am just too smart for her to have an arguement with.I believe Allah is very merciful,He will always hear my prayer in condition like this.

*Tak berkat pun dapat duit hasil menipu orang*

Just one advice,if you are preparing for your big day and plan to get your dress sewn, please hire for a proffessional tailor,or designer.I know many of us can't afford designer, but they are amateur designers that do work professionally, and their artworks are to die for.

If I knew things like these will happen to me,I would have gone with young designers that are still affordable.

Anyway,my dress is almost ready and I will pick it up at a friend's friend's house this Friday. She is btw the savior to this dress, she was willing to fix and accessorize for me ;-)

2.Hantaran from him to me
Theoretically, the hantarans decoration shall be made by groom's family to bring for the bride on the wedding day,but I guess many couples "cheat" on this :P
Most of the gifts I bought by myself, and he bought his own presents, and I did the deco as well :P
Westerners don't have this hantaran culture in their wedding :P
But,of course Ramon bought me some priceless hantarans like ring(present ring,not wedding ring,Swarowski bracelet,Cambridge satchel,German chocolate,and watch)

So,I did the hanataran deco by myself. It's not that bad I guess :P.Oklahkan?

3.Singage
I told Ramon,to be fair,he needed to prepare something when I spent a lot of time DIYing here. So,I asked him to prepare for few signage since his mom has a printing company,so it's a good thing he can get printing done for free.
4.Door gifts
He also was willing to prepare bookmarks for guests.Just small stuff for the guests alongside other gifts in the doorgift bags.

5.Hantaran from me to him
And this is hantaran from me to him.Basically we go for 9-7 hantarans(exclude mas kahwin and ring).I also did the deco by myself.
Before I forget,I want to wish everyone Selamat Berpuasa and salam Ramadhan to all :P
Please pray for my event to be a successful one.Amin.

Wedding Prep Part 1

Hi guys,
I once said that I would not be doing any of my wedding preparation review here. The reason why is because I'm too lazy to update in a proper way and I found instagram is an easier medium for me to snap pictures and post them right away with little description.

However, few weeks ago,my future SIL complained we didn't do any review on our wedding prep, and she was dying to know all since she doesn't have an instagram account :P

So,here today I decided to write some of my wedding preparation for my future FIL readings and for yours too.

1.Baju Nikah/Solemnization Dress
I opted for white, clean and simple color. And for the cutting of the dress itself,I chose peplum. It's a very simple dress because I have a principle that solemnization dress should be as simple as possible.I get it tailored at PKNS Shah Alam at very affordable price, and good service was given too :)
Only half of the size, sorry cannot reveal all, just wanna give some small idea

2.Solemnization Veil
I got it tailored at the same place as my solemnization dress. It's a long oblong veil and a bit heavy, but I love it to bits.

3.Wedding Invitation Card/Buntings/stickers

I ordered my wedding invitation cards, buntings and stickers from here.Since it's close to my house,we drove there and picked the stuff from its office too.Good service and affordable.

4.DIY
Currently,I am working on doing my prop DIY.It's a fun process, eventhough I have to admit that I always feel tired and what more with backpain, but I enjoy doing this all from day to day.

5.Official Photographer
For Photography,I chose photoaura crew to be our Official Photographer.Since my wedding will take place at my parents' house in Kota Bharu and whatmore our wedding will be held during wedding peak season which is during raya holidays,so I want the OP to be KB based, and I heard many good reviews and service from this OP.You can check their great wedding pictures here. The price is affordable too ;-)

6.Guestbook
Since I love doing DIY,I just made my own Guestbook.First I bought the Guestbook from Popular at less than RM40,I used several material like satin,ribbons,pearls/beads,some colorful papers, and decorate it by myself.

*Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures. All pictures were taken with my iphone :P

Till next review!

We're Getting Hitched!

Guten Morgen,
So,as I mentioned in the earlier post,I have an announcement to make, well looking at the tittle, you can already guess what the fuss is all about :P

So,this thing explains a lot of my absence these days ;-) In fact, the wedding date is not that far anymore,in few months actually.

So,InsyaAllah,if everything goes fine as planned,we'll tie the knot in August!
One more thing that I haven't yet gotten the chance to announce is,on April 1st,meinem lieben Ramon finally embraced Islam with his full heart.Alhamdulillah. 3 years and this is the beginning?Yes,I know, slow poke. But Alhamdulillah for everything. He's been doing very fine with his "new" life, and it's our responsibilities to teach and guide him from now on.

Though he's leaving again in less than 10 days :(
He always said,"I need to do work hardly from now on,because you're "expensive" ". Haha, well,he meant it as a joke,of course.

Actually,We have set up a project wedding blog, but lately,we've been quite lazy to update, since running two blogs isn't easy and I don't have a lot time for that. So,I think I'll stick to this blog to update my progress from time to time. But,if you still want to check our project wedding blog, you can go straight here ;- http://projectwedding.bisswanger.com

4 more months,people!! I'm officially a bridezilla now :(
