Christmas 2015

Salam guys,
This year's christmas we decided to stay at home rather than going traveling somewhere.Well,we have travel plans after New year, tough, and we're expecting some guests tonight. So we as the hosts already planned several things to do and places to visit! It's gonna be a lot fun!

Last year we were at in laws' house on christmas, but this year we skipped christmas :P
We hope to make it again at their place next year.

Although we were just at home, husband cooked us a special german dish for the Xmas lunch called "Chicken Schnitzel" or for us Malaysians known as chicken chop but the chicken is cooked different way.Always enjoy this simple but tasty dish.

After that we decided to take a stroll at a hill nearby since weather was perfectly warm and sunny.Talking about weather,it feels weird that we have a very warm winter this year.As much as I hate winter coldness, but I have to be honest,I kinda miss it,especially the snow.

Well, winter is still long,so let's wait for the winter wonderland to arrive :)

How was your christmas holiday spent?

Chicken Schnitzel, the chicken is made flat by using special kitchen hammer, and then coated with bread crumbs and shallow fried with either vegetable fat or oil.

On top of the Birkenkopf.See how sunny the weather was.One can even see as far as the mountain yesterday from here

After coming home,I decided to make Eikrapfen/Egg Choux that is quite famous here during christmas season.Last year in Cologne,I ate tons of these and miss them,so I googled some easy recipe and started whipping the ingredients.

The texture of Eikrapfen from inside. It is the same ingredients used for making cream puff that is famous in Malaysia, but instead of baking them in the oven,I deep-fried them and coat with sugar like classical donuts.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha 2015

Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha to all my readers. It was a blessing to be celebrating this big day in Islam again this year. But we should never forget the 2 fatal incidents happenes in Mecca these days. It's so sad to hear such news, but let's pray for the deceased and speedy recovery for the injured people.

Although I decided at first I didn't wanna cook anything special for this celebration, but to think that raya only comes twice per year,I cancelled my mind and cooked some traditional food synonym for raya celebration which are Rendang Daging(Symbolic to the sacrifice ritual during Raya Haji) and Kuah kacang with nasi himpit.

Also baked some brownies for a small gathering at a friend's house earlier today

I also made Popia Sira for breakfast today,I normally don't cook for breakfast but today is an exception

Earlier today,we got an invitation to a raya open house of a couple living not far from Stuttgart. As I planned not to make any open house celebration,so we went to celebrate it at someone else's place and the small celebration was awesome with good food and good company.

The most important thing was the kids played and had good time together though Alayna was still a bit shy, haha.

Hope next time it's our turn to organize a small celebration like this.

With the host family

All the food were scrumptious

These 2 kept everyone entertained!Don't grow up too fast you two

Sophia Alayna's 1st Birthday Party

Salam guys,
Finally we're back in our small crib here in Stuttgart. We left Malaysia with a lot of fond memories.
Just a day before our departure,we had a small birthday celebration for our little princess.

However the birthday princess was not in her best condition on her birthday, even until today. She was down with flu, cough, blocked nose and a little asthma known from the sound made everytime she breaths out and in.

So,not many pictures of her I can take that day considering that she needed extra care from me.The party went well nevertheless, many people came to celebrate the day of our princess, food was good, some even prepared exclusively by my mom despite the water supply out at home that day :)

It was a fun moment for everyone especially my family and I to see this little girl grows up in front of our own eyes.

Hopefully we can organize her birthday parties like this in coming years.

Till then people.

Raya Story 2015

Salam guys,
It's still not too late to wish everyone Selamat Hari raya Maaf Zahir dan Batin.
So sorry for the long hiatus. It's because we just came back from a short, but meaningful 10 days in Japan!

Can't believe that I was back in the country where I once called home.More on that in another post. But before that, how was your raya so far?Did you guys enjoy it a lot?Me too!
although we already left Malaysia for Japan on the 3rd day of raya, but we had nevertheless the best time of raya with my family and friends. We visited some friends and had the scrumptious food.

However,I had a very bad diarrhoea on the day of departure to Japan till about 4 days after arrival :(
It was not easy to travel when you need to go to toilet more often than normal.I seeked for remedy when I was in Japan.

Let me know about your raya story.
Bye.

All kind of food on the first day of raya.Lontong,Rendang,Sate and the rest you name it

Our Raya this year was more meaningful due to this one :)

Family Potrait. The tailor didn't manage to get our bajus for raya done,so we had to wear whatever we can find on the night of raya!

On the 2nd day of raya.We went to an Aqiqah and birthday invitation of close relatives. The food were all scrumptious
