Recipe 17:Sugar-glazed Doughnuts

Hello guys,
The first recipe of 2013 ;-)

I am normally not a fan of classic doughnuts with sugar flakes, but when it comes to sugar-glazed doughnuts,I am their number one fan ;-)

When I was in town,I always buy sugar-glazed doughnuts from KrispyKreme or J.Co or Big Apple, but never really had idea how to do it from scratch.
So this time,I put a little effort making them myself.Well,to be honest,to get good and fluffy doughnuts,it takes my whole night to do this, but trust me,you won't be frustrated with the end-result,the fluffy and soft doughnuts.

Let's start with the ingredients and the methods, both doughnut making and sugar glaze.

Ingredients for doughnuts
4 cups of flour
salt
2 eggs
Lukewarm butter(About 2 big spoons)
1/2 cup of lukewarm milk
2 to 3 spoons of sugar
Dried yeast*
1/2 warm water*
2 tbs of sugar*

Methods
1.Dissolve the ingredients with * together and let it at room temperature for 10 minutes or so.
2.Soften the butter in a frying pan at a slow simmer but make sure not to make it too hot
3.Beat 2 eggs in a bowl and later add the lukewarm butter from step 2
4.In a bowl of flour,3 spoons of sugar a little salt mixture, add yeast mixture, egg and butter mixture, and lastly lukewarm milk.
5.Mix well every ingredient using hands until the dough does not stick to your palm anymore. If it still sticks, add flour little by little.
6.When everything is ready, let the dough covered with a damp cloth/tissue for 1 to 2 hours so that the dough size will become bigger.
7.After that, mould the doughnut by using this method.Flatten the dough using a roller with a specific height in order to get all doughnuts with same size and height.(Sorry no pictures, should have taken :P)
8.By using a cup/mug/glass,press it to the flattened dough and you will get dough in round shape.
9.Now using a an open round-shape tool like wide straw or bottle cap, press in the middle and take out the little dough away.
10.Make sure to spread flour on your plate so that your doughnut won't stick to the plate.
11.When everything is ready, make sure you prepare the sugar glaze(Recipe comes next) first then fry the doughnut because we need to dip doughnut quickly after frying in the sugar glaze.

Ingredients for sugar glaze
1/2 cup of sugar or less
1/2 of milk
Few drops of vanilla extract

Methods
1.Mix all the ingredients above in a frying pan and stir at a low simmer for a couple of minutes
2.Set aside
3.Right after frying the doughnuts, dip them in the sugar glaze and set on a plate or kitchen rack,if any.
4.Put in the fridge for a couple of hours before serving for best result!
5.Ready!

Happy cooking!

2012 Wrap-up

Hello guys,
Finally I could write this a bit longer than usual. It's not that easy actually to write something this long but it's not like I'm gonna do this every often.Hope you won't mind reading as much as I don't mind writing it.

As another year passed,I was left with so many memories of it,be them good or bad,I will always take good experiences to enhance myself and make lesson of the bad ones.

I have long been blogging since 2005,which that time my blogging contents only focused on my life in Japan,my studies, places I've traveled to and not forget my personal life. After so much consideration,I shut down my old blog and started fashion blogging in 2011,only after I was highly motivated by Ramon who knows my huge interest in fashion but was too shy and lack of confidence to reveal myself to the world.

Time has passed since then, and this blog almost turned two.Though I am nothing famous,or having a lot of followers or readers, but I am happy on the other hand because from here I gain many experiences and friends, boosts my confidence and makes me aware of my self-esteem and I am not shy anymore to show myself to the world.

I can't deny that eventhough I enjoyed writing this blog very much, but there were times when I felt like shutting it down, times when I think I wanted to be a self-perfection from head to toe and times when I think I can't tolerate for not being perfect.

I know no one was born with perfection, but when you try hard to achieve that, then that's when your level of tense peaks up.At the end of the day,I realized no one can ever be perfect because we have to accept ourselves as who we were born with.

After  a while,I switched my mind to not shut this blog down, because I love it so much. One week without writing it feels like a year.

A bit on the personal side,I am happy to be born in a family who loves me and never fails to support me in whatever I do,until I feel like I want to stay single forever because I am afraid to be with another new family other than my own.In my family,I am not who you know me as.I am childish and my behavior can change from a 27 year old to 5 year old, even my parents admitted that.

But,I know they're not gonna be young forever, whether I want it or not,I have to build my own family one day,and at this number of age, most of my friends already married and own kids.

I am still striking for this one resolution to be fulfilled this year, and I can foresee, this will come my way pretty soon ;-)

And I want to do more travels as well with my future husband and good friend.I love travelling and want to explore places I've never been to,and hope this dream will come true.

I also want to cook and bake more at home, and if possible start my own small business selling pastries ;-)
Though I'm still bad at it.

Other than that,I want to reduce my shopping habit because this habit won't stop until I get determined to do it from my heart and I'm sure I can do this though I easily get attracted to the shops!Oh,God,help me on this.

And lastly(since I am getting lazier to write more already),I wanna say thank you to everyone of who has been reading my blog by actively commenting or silently though you see more craps here than interesting things, and I hope you'll come again here and I can ensure you one thing,I will write more and more things here, especially OOTD,only for you guys.

To 2013,please be good to me and I can't wait to board this whole journey with you.

Till then,

Love,
Hidaya

First of 2013

Happy New Year 2013,everyone!!
I left 2012 last night with a lot of  wonderful memories and from outside of my balcony,I watched fireworks brightening the night sky,and I was so overwhelmed to see how beautiful 2012 has made me feel.

Eventhough I did not fulfill everything I ever wished for at the beginning of 2012,but nothing can stop me from achieving them this year or years to come.

It's ok to be motivated and set resolutions eventhough not all that we wish for will ever be true, but we can learn from previous mistakes and strike to be a better person everyday.

As I speak this,I am so thrilled to board this 2013 journey and to make my big plans real!
I might write a little wrap-up/conclusion in the next entry and how I feel about this blog, especially.

Today I went to Ikea to buy ground coffee(Yes,drove all the way from Puchong to Ikea only to buy coffee :P)and after that had a walk at The Curve when suddenly I was hit with nausea in the middle of the mall!It was actually a bad behaviour of mine to leave a restaurant right after eating which is not good for my stomach and thus explains why I vomited in the mall.Haha.

It was funny,though.

Till then.
